2 of my friends got 10k per yr in state. One had 1540, 3.6-3.7 but with insane ecs, and other with solid ecs, 4 uw, and 1570. Both had 13-14 APs.At first we think Pitt is affordable by looking at past tuition rate. However, look at new tuition rate, it seems a bit pricy comparing to other OOS schools that S24 got admitted. The reason we fell in love with Pitt after visit is the medical resources and school size. Also the city size of Pittsburgh is just right.I looked at the 2023-2024 catalog and compared the two. They appear to be exactly the same and it is in fact described as a joint major. Pitt is just like any other school for waitlist, you could hear anytime between now and early August. Best to assume it is a rejection and be pleasantly surprised if an acceptance comes later.
