There's a 32 heat guan yu build I used but it revolved around lightning rod to damage Hades while I repositioned. Get yourself massive spin and/or quick spin. These help negate the 50% nerf to your health. The special is pretty OP once you get a decent boon on it. Against upgraded Theseus+Asterius I think it's been a complete roadblock with the aspect- I legitimately find it easier fighting Hades with Guan Yu than fighting Theseus with a chariot. Hades spear reigns superior. Typhlax 3 years ago #6. guan yu is extremely dependent on hammer and boons to be effective but when it is you basically faceroll the rest of the run. either charged skewer with a % boon (aphrodite, demeter, athena, etc.) this lets you very easily play ranged and chuck several hundred damage spears.
That said, I've gone back to the Hades spear when I use Varatha, because with Guan Yu it's so easy to ruin a run at the final fight for me.
